NSFAS Bursaries Available 2018
Nsfas bursaries available 2018 are offered with the aim to transform NSFAS into an efficient and effective provider of financial aid to students from poor and working class families in a sustainable manner that promotes access to, and success in, higher and further education and training in pursuit of South Africa’s national and human resource development goals.
What is a NSFAS bursary?
NSFAS bursaries are the money you receive to cover the costs of your studies for certain qualifications at any public university or college in South Africa. This money does not have to be repaid to NSFAS.
We administer various bursary funds, including:
The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme to train teachers
Bursaries for studying Social Work through the Department of Social Development
Bursaries from the National Skills Fund for scarce skills
Bursaries for the National Certificate (Vocational) and for certain Report 191 courses at TVET colleges
The bursary programme of the Department of Higher Education and Training for students with disabilities.
How To Apply
If you will not be studying at any of the above listed institution, please contact your financial aid office or student support office on campus to apply for funding. Visit Nsfas website for more details on bursaries offered.
